Antarctica: A Symphony of Superlatives.
Antarctica is Simply Spectacular!
An uninhabited continent, a massive landmass covered with ice. A region surrounded by icy towers floating on choppy seas. Home to magnificent mammals like massive whales and supple seals. Haunt to a multitude of seabirds such as the giant albatross, diving petrels and other avian oddities like emperor penguins.
The Antarctic Treaty System (ATS) regulates international relations with respect to Antarctica. It guarantees that the area is to be used for peaceful and scientific purposes only. It also allows a certain amount of small-scale tourism.
I was one of the fortunate people that was able to visit that distant continent, sailing from Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, in 2014 - on a 3 weeks trip to Antarctica.
Feel free to browse through my album - and the relevant photo-galleries and try to enjoy the photos of Antarctica, as seen from my perspective.
