Rural Romania
with a touch of Roma, Saxons in Transylvania.
The area where Hungarians and Romanians have been at each other’s throat for centuries. Mix in some protestant Saxons and Roma – and you have an interesting, volatile and very picturesque mix of peoples.
Add some Renaissance, Baroque, Gothic modern and neo-modern architecture and there is plenty to see in the cities too.
But it is in the countryside, where agriculture has not changed much in the last century, where people are their natural selves – without many pretenses – where picture taking really pay off.
Towns people, villagers, farmers, laborers, Roma, the old and the young make up most of the subjects in this album.
A new photo-album of mainly rural Romania.
